A former member of the law firm of Ault, Midlam & Deuprey, Mr. Greenfield received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Political Science from the University of Arizona in 1978. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from California Western School of Law in 1982. Mr. Greenfield has been a member of both the California State Bar and the San Diego County Bar Association since 1982, and is a current member of the Southern California Defense Lawyers Association, as well as the San Diego Defense Lawyers Association (having served as its president in 2008). He is also a member of the American Inns of Court, and is a member (and 2017 President-elect) of the San Diego chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He has been named on the list of “Super Lawyers” for the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. Mr. Greenfield was honored with the San Diego Defense Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” Award in 2013. He has been the AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale Hubbell since 1988.
In 1981, Mr. Greenfield was elected to serve as the Managing Editor of the California Western Law Review, and shortly thereafter, published the following article: Curlender v. Bio-Science Laboratories: California Grants A Cause of Action In Wrongful Life To The Severely Defective Infant Plaintiff. 18 California Western Law Review 270 (1982).
Mr. Greenfield’s primary areas of practice are insurance bad faith litigation, insurance coverage and business litigation.
Mr. Greenfield is admitted to practice law in all of the courts of the State of California as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Central Districts of California. In addition to being actively engaged in civil trial practice, Mr. Greenfield also acts as an arbitrator for the San Diego County Superior Court.
